The vaccines offered in the programme are the recommended vaccines offered to all children and teenagers in Norway, and consists of vaccines against 12 different diseases.
- The first vaccine in the programme is given when the child is six weeks old, and the last in Year 10.
- In addition, the BCG vaccine against tuberculosis is included for children with parents from countries with high cases of tuberculosis.
If you are missing a vaccine
If, for various reasons, your child has not received one or more of the program vaccines at the usual time, they are entitled to a free offer of the vaccines included in the Childhood Immunisation Programme up to the age of 20.
Booster vaccines
Each individual is responsible for taking a booster dose of the diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis and pertussis vaccine every 10 years to maintain immunity.
